Socio-cultural activities are vital in preparing students for real life and in strengthening their personal skills. It helps them identify with the university and improve on skills such as presentation, leadership, organizational and interpersonal communication.
In CUIB, socio-cultural activities are encouraged and promoted through clubs and associations. Clubs and associations were launched in CUIB on January 17 2013 to instill and promote the spirit of togetherness - the Economy of Communion philosophy. Students are involved in clubs and associations, where they gain new skills, talents are discovered and entrepreneurs are born. Socio-cultural activities make the social life of CUIB students, faculty and staff exciting and entertaining.
Students are open to all clubs and can become members with participative roles in any club. Club members benefit from the facilities provided to them such as training venues, meeting rooms, halls and studios. Students are free to come up with new clubs; however they must meet with the Sports and Socio-cultural Unit for guidance on the formation of new clubs.
There exists different clubs and associations in CUIB all led by students with the supervision of the Sports and Socio-cultural Unit. Socio-cultural clubs and associations are guided by rules and regulations that implement and portray the mission and vision of the Catholic University Institute of Buea.
