The CUIB community has expressed appreciation to its Chancellor, His Lordship Immanuel Bushu through a gift that was handed to him during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the institution to Small Soppo on May 6.
According to the head of the delegation, Sis. Mary Kombe, the gift is acknowledgement of the chancellor’s good works as a servant and is a continuation of thanks to God for the gift of the Bishop’s life: to the church and the university.
The chancellor while receiving the gift thanked the university community for the surprise saying that their role as servants of God is to serve and not to be served. Thus in life, he said it was essential to always relate to others irrespective of our different struggles. He reminded all that every human being is important and useful, thus we should always try to look at the good in people rather than faults.
The gift comprised of a girdle, an alb and a chasuble designed with the university fabric. According to Aghamba Fabiola, coordinator of the Center for Students Services, the idea of designing the chasuble with the university fabric is a sign of gratitude. It is worth noting that the university handed some frames to the chancellor during the celebration of the thanksgiving mass on his recovery earlier in March, 2016.
